The Rules

So I’m making this up as I go along.  I’m mostly just writing a story so the rules are a bit fluid.

  1. Heirs must be FEMALE.
  2. The heir must be a WITCH.
  3. The heir must have the PHOTOGRAPHY SKILL and will capture family events via the in-game camera.
  4. The heir can marry any sim (townie or one I make in CAS).
  5. There is no MINIMUM child requirement so long as ONE FEMALE WITCH IS BORN EVERY GENERATION.
  6. There is no required number of generations to finish the story.  It’s done when it is done.
  7. Every wish rolled by the heir MUST BE GRANTED (within reason).

The rules are subject to change and may be ignored whenever I feel like doing so.

    1. I know! I thought it would be more difficult but my sims only seem to pop out witches no matter what other sub-species they are married to. I am really making it up as I go along.

  1. It may not be for the forums, but I love that you kept it simple. Rules are only “good” rules if they make it more fun to play and write. If they don’t? Forget it.

(I just found this through the WordPress recs and am so thrilled to have all these chapters to catch up on. I’ve read a few of the most recent posts and I have to say, your Sims are adorable!)

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad that you are enjoying my story!

I was becoming a bit disillusioned with it but the good news is…I’ve been reinvigorated and there will be new posts up next week!

I look forward to catching up on your stories, too! I’m now a follower!

  2. I’ve decided to give this a try, but I’m not sure I want to use the Photography skill as I tend to get attached to the pics I take and hate that I lose them if I move households. (i.e. I’ll have pics on the walls of one house and move the kids out, then switch to a child’s household. Once the parents die, you can’t get the pics back.)

  3. Love the last line – “subject to change and may be ignore”!! =D I believe that is called ‘artistic license’! lol Your witches are adorable, and I have also found they tend to be a dominant species! Happy writing! ♥

  4. I have some questions. What life span is your game set at? Your characters seem to hang around long. I know the witches occult helps them live longer, but was curious about your settings. And do you ever turn aging off for story purposes? And do you ever switch houses and if so how do you keep your Sims from going rogue? Thanks.

    1. I think I have it set on long with some modifications.
      Baby – 10 days
      Toddler – 30
      Kid – 30
      Teen – 30
      YA – 60
      Adult – 50
      Elder – 45

Yes, I do turn aging off sometimes. Right now it is off because I need Annie to stay a teen and she’s super close to YA.

In order to keep sims from going rogue, I have one main save and anytime I have to go to another house, I create a duplicate save. When I was at Penny’s house discussing marriage, I was playing in a new save just for that.

      1. So simple and yet I never thought to do that. Thank you so much. I’m a sucker for challenges and sticking 100% to the rules and I always feel rushd when it comes to trying to story tell and not cheat. I know I need to chill and relax a little.
