Can You Help Nonsimsical?

Let’s move mountains for Dani and her family!

Hey, lovelies!

I need your help.  Well, not me specifically, but a wonderful friend on mine who also happens to be a long-time simmer.  You may know her as Nonsimsical on Tumblr.  I know her as Dani.  She and her family are desperately trying to leave a very toxic situation and they need the help of this amazing community.

What’s scary is that this could be any of us.  I’ve seen the Sims community do amazing things for each other over the years.  I’d love to see us make this happen for Dani’s family.

Here’s her story:

We’re asking for your continued support and help in raising money so that we can move into a new place so that we can leave this toxic environment altogether and move to somewhere where we can feel safe and secure and raise our children in a clean and loving environment not filled with anxiety, stress, tears and angst! We previously raised $824 and $310 of that went towards preventing water shut off. We have $514 left to go towards first months rent, but we are needing your help in raising the money for a deposit and pet deposit. We are meeting with the manager of the new place, hopefully soon, as soon as he can break away from renovations on the home we applied for. Once I know how much for certain rent will be I’ll be able to update you guys on the full amount. As of right now, we know that the depost will be $1,000 and the pet deposit is $250. Again, the $514 we currently have will go towards first months rent and once I have a number I can update the difference. Housing goes fast as there’s not many places available anymore. We don’t want to pass by on this offer because the shady realtor and homeowner are giving us more time to move. We understand they want us out of the home and they want us out asap.

The Simblr community has been a solid rock for me the past 7 years and I have seen you guys do so many amazing and wonderful things when we all come together! I really need that support right now for my family!! Anything is helpful. Liking, sharing, donating! ❤ We can never pay you back, but we can and WILL pay it forward! Please, help our family leave the toxicity behind and move towards something that promises a better future for us!

With much love, hope and appreciation ❤
Dani, Chris, Hunter, Scout, Ash and Luna!

Why I Won’t Drop It: Holding EA and the GameChangers Accountable

We need to hold EA, the Sims community, and each other accountable in our words and actions.

Yesterday I posted on several channels wanting answers from EA about the issues surrounding DylanSimz, the GameChanger program, and a path forward.

Apparently, I touched a nerve. I was told I was being mean. I was blocked by several people. Based on the amount of angry messages I got today through various channels, people are confused by my stance on the EA GameChanger program and the situation with DylanSimz in general.

Allow me to explain. Grab some snacks, this is a long one.

I don’t want the EA GameChanger program dismantled. I understand it’s purpose. Marketing is expensive and this is a fantastic way for EA to obtain free marketing while promoting content creators. EA can keep it’s program, that’s the least of my problems.

I don’t need every single detail about what happened to the minors DylanSimz allegedly had contact with. I have enough information regarding what occurred. I wanted him out of the program and he is gone.

I wanted SimGuruKate removed and she was. I’m frustrated that she’s still part of EA but I am relieved that she will not be handling the GameChanger program so on that topic we are also square.

My main issue is: What is EA’s plan going forward? How are they going to protect our children? I want transparency and action in that matter.

I’m not asking for perfection or even an entire manifesto with every single step taken to this point. I want them to acknowledge they were wrong and that they’ve started towards a long-term solution.

I am indeed frustrated with the GameChangers. Their silence speaks volumes. Out of everyone in the community, THEY are the one who have the power to force EA to speak on this. PastelSims was the one who launched this entire process by releasing her YouTube video outing DylanSimz and the cover-up. We need more of that. We need to hold EA, the Sims community, and each other accountable in our words and actions.

I’m not letting this one go. If you feel the need to remove me from your list, that’s entirely your business. I’ve already lost dear friends because of it.

I’ve been part of this community since the beginning. 19 years now. I love this game and I love the people I’ve met because of it. I want to see it flourish and continue. But I won’t be quiet on this issue regardless of outcome. As someone who was groomed online by someone in power and was later sexually molested by that person, I will never stop fighting this fight until EA comes to this community with full transparency and a plan to prevent further harm to the children of the simmer community.

Thanks for your time. I know that was a read.

Sincerely,
Kate aka SweetPoyzin

Chapter 5.12

Violet meets an old friend and once again encountered unintended issues.

“Hey, Vi!  I’m in town.  Care to drop by?”

It had been awhile since I’d gotten to see Lucifer.  He’d been on tour with his band Dante’s Inferno for about 18 months so I figured I’d stop over and visit him while he was in town.

“Oh my god, you look great!”  I ran over and hugged him.  “Why are you here?”

“Well, I bought a house!  Come in for the tour!”

“Wow!  Luce, it’s lovely!”  It was.  Spacious, great light.  The kind of house mine dreams to be.

“Move in with me, Violet.”

I turned and looked at Lucifer.  “I’m sorry,  what now?”

“You don’t have to move in as my girlfriend or whatever.  There’s a second bedroom.  Move in with me.”

“Why?  Why would you ask that!?”

“I just…I hate the thought of you living in that –”

“In that what, Lucifer?  That shack!?  That’s my home and I’ve worked very hard to turn it into what it is today.”

“I just worry about you, Violet.  We might not be together anymore but that doesn’t mean I love you any less.”

“UGH.  Look, come back to my place.  See that it’s a real house and I’ll make you dinner.”

“Alright.  Let me change.  This town is hotter than Hades, I swear.

“I have to admit, Vi, you’ve cleaned the place up nicely since I was here last!”

“I told you it was a home now!  Jeez.  Sometimes you gotta listen to me!”  I was pulling out all the stops.  Even making us Italian Meatballs for dinner.  I can be Suzy Homemaker when required!

After dinner we caught up on each other’s lives.  We talked about his band.  Dante’s Inferno is becoming more mainstream and they’ve booked another 20 cities for the tour.  I told him about my flower business and we talked about my sister and his brother and when we were ever going to become Aunt and Uncle.

And then we made a bad decision.

“Here,” Lucifer handed me a small package.  “It’s the key to the house.”

“Luce, I can’t take this just because we slept together.”

“The house was always for you anyway.  I have no intention of staying in it.  I just wanted you to get out of here. It’s yours to do with as you please.”

“I’ll see you around, Violet.  Stay safe.”

And he turned and walked out of the door.

Side Story: I Found the One

Side Story: Meet Chip’s father, Alistair Worthington Jr.

“Hello?  Hello, Dad?  Yes, I need you to come over right away.  I’ve found her.  I’ve finally found the one.”

“Alright, boy, tell me about this one.” Alistair Worthington Jr was not thrilled about being yanked away from his morning paper for another one of his son’s escapades.

“She’s perfect, dad.  She has no desires of her own, only future plans that center around her dead grandmother or some shit.”

Alistair perked up at this news.  “Go on.”

“Well, that’s about it.  There is one more thing, I guess.  She’s smart, Dad.  She already figured out I was a Worthington.”

“DAMN IT, Boy!”  Alistair threw his coffee cup across the room.  “You’ve got to do better than that.  We need this to work.  We can’t manipulate a smart one.  We need a sheep who hangs on your every word.”

“No, Dad!  This is better.  She’s smart which means she’ll see reason.  If we give her reasonable explanations, she’ll do it.”

“Intriguing.”  Alistair Worthington Jr stroked his chin.   “Perhaps you aren’t a waste after all.  Do you think she’ll marry you?”

“Of course she will.”  Chip gestured around the kitchen.  “Who wouldn’t want this?”

“Does she have any living family?”

“Dunno.  All she talked about was dead grandmothers.”

“Watch out for family ties, son.  They could be the downfall of the plan.”

“It’s alright, Dad.  I’ve got this.  It will work this time.”

“You’d best hope so, boy.”  Alistair got up to leave but turned back and looked at his son.  “You’re inheritance is riding on it.”  And with that he left.

Chapter 5.11

Violet finally goes on a date but gets more than she bargained for.

I arrived at Crystal Meadows Downtown right at 8pm.  I’d spent three hours on my hair and makeup and to my surprise the bouncer let me right in.  I guess I looked like I belonged.

I didn’t see Chip anywhere so I plopped down an enjoyed some hookah in an effort to loosen up.  I had to drop $25 on the juice but I figured I might as well live it up while I could, even if I was going to be here alone.

After about an hour, Chip was still nowhere to be seen but I didn’t mind too much.  I had the loveliest view of the moon rising over the mountains.

“Violet?”  I turned and there was Chip, dressed in the same outfit from yesterday, rushing over to me.  “Wow, you look lovely,” he said wrapping me in an unexpected hug.

“Nice of you to show up!”  I offered sarcastically.

“I’m so sorry.  I got held up with some business stuff at home.  Please, won’t you join me for a drink at the bar?”  He grabbed my hand and led me over to the nicest bar I’ve ever seen.  We ordered some cocktails and a few appetizers and I was pleasantly surprised by Chip’s demeanor.

“So, tell me about you?” He asked politely.

“I don’t know.  You kind of know everything.” I joked.  I came here about 6 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out who I am.”

“Well,” he probed,” what do you want to be when you grow up?”

“That’s just the thing.  I don’t know.  It’s a long story, really.  My grandmother made me promise to fulfill our family legacy or whatever.  My great-great-grandma wanted to be president, my great-grandma wanted to be an astronaut.  So there’s those things to consider.”

“What, no medical school?” Chip joked.

“No, no.  I get out of that one since my mother and grandmother were world famous doctors!  But that’s enough of my sordid past.  Tell me about you!”

“Hey!”  Chip grabbed my hand.  “The karaoke machine is free!  Let’s sing!”  Before I could protest he’d pulled me over to the machine and queued up a song.

After squeaking through that nightmare, we found a secluded bench and sat down to chat some more.

“You know, I don’t usually do this, but would you like to come back to my place?”  Chip gave me a smile that melted my insides.

“I don’t usually do this either, but yes.”

I woke up the next morning in a room with soaring picture windows but Chip was nowhere to be found.

I poke around a bit and discovered I was in a huge damn house with incredible views of the ocean, a gigantic kitchen, a library, and an artist’s loft.  Finally, I heard Chip in the office, which, also had an incredible view.

Coincidentally, he was wearing the same clothes again.

“So, do you like only have one outfit?”

“Of course not.  Well, sort of.  It’s kind of my brand,” he shrugged sheepishly.

“Your brand,” I said slowly.  “Oh my GOD.  I know you.  You’re Chip Worthington.  You’re Alistair Worthington III, the male model.”

“Guilty as charged.” He smiled.

“Your dad is Alistair Worthington Jr, the oil magnate.  Your mom is Helena Harrimann Worthington, the actress, and your sister is Odalisse Worthington the artist.”  I stumbled back into a chair.  This was the son of the wealthiest man in the country.

“You sure know a lot about my family,” he chuckled.

“Uh, yeah!  You’re in all the newspapers and magazines.  Like…daily.  Why didn’t you say anything?”

“Because you didn’t recognize me.  I didn’t choose to be born into fame and fortune.  I’m a person.  It was nice to be treated like one.  Not one woman has ever yelled at me before.”  He smiled that smile again.

“Well.  You deserved it.”  I grabbed my bag and headed for the door.  “You better call me this time!”

Chapter 5.10

Violet tries to mix and mingle but ends up with unintended consequences.

Once people started buying my flower creations, they really started buying them!  I almost couldn’t keep up with the demand.  I wasn’t about to complain though because I was finally able to update the bajezzus out of my house.

I even had a proper kitchen — with ice cream maker, of course.  I was reluctant to give up my handmade dining room set, even if it wasn’t the most beautiful, I made it myself when I first got here so it was more sentimental than anything.

I also forgot how quickly kittens turn into cats.  Sox and Lox are fully grown terrors now.  Still cute but they have a habit of tearing up my house while I’m out.  I wonder what kind of conversations they have?

Meanwhile, I’m still trying to figure out just what I want to do with my life.  I’ll be honest, I never saw myself as a lifelong flower peddler.  I still remember what Nana said to me about fulfilling the family’s dreams so I’ve been studying for a military career with the hopes of becoming an astronaut like Great Great Gramma Mollie.  I’m also thinking a potential political run at some point once I get my life together.  So many dreams, so little time.

As much as I love Sox and Lox, I needed some human interaction.  I joined a singles group.  I know, it’s not one of my smarter ideas but I had to get out of the house and other clubs seemed so…stuffy.

The first meetup was at some place called “The Hangout” which should have maybe been a clue that I had made a mistake.  But nevertheless I went to the meetup and actually had a pretty good time to start.  There were 6 of us and the whole point wasn’t to pickup someone but just to chat and hangout so I was pleasantly surprised.

Before too long, that JACKASS from the Romance Festival arrived!  He had the audacity to show his face in this city after never calling me.  I took it upon myself to let him know exactly what kind of a piece of work I thought he was.

“HEY YOU!”  I yelled across the bar as I launched my attack.

“Oh!  Uh…Violet, right?”  He gave me a wink that would have normally melted my cold heart but we’d already played that game.

“Damn right it’s Violet!  You never called me!  You were all, ‘Hey can I get your number, cutie’ and then You.  Never.  Called.”  I really don’t know what came over me.  I think it’s too much time with the cats.

“I am so sorry about that, Violet.  Let me make it up to you.  How about a date to Crystal Meadows Downtown?  Say, tomorrow night?”

“Um.  Ok.”  I was shocked.  Crystal Meadows Downtown was the swankiest place in the city.  Well, in most cities even.  It’s like some place I’d only be able to afford if I had 100 children and sold them all plus my soul.

“Alright.  I’ll see you tomorrow night.  8pm.”  And he sauntered off.

I ran home and dug out my best outfit and panicked until I passed out sometime in the wee hours of the morning.

A Day in the Life: The Move

Rainn and Tobias move into their dream home.

Note from SweetPoyzin: I’m working on getting my Day in the Life story ported over her so this picks up kind of in the middle of things. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happened so far.

Generation 1: Gretchen is a single woman living and working in Windenberg. She decides to start a family and adopts daughter a daughter named Rainn and a son named Otis. Together they raise and save the money to buy their dream house. When the kids are teens, Gretchen marries Adam who raises Rainn and Otis. Sadly, Adam passes away on Christmas just after Rainn becomes a young adult.

Generation 2: Rainn meets and marries Dax Whitting. They buy a small home in Brindleton Bay and are eager to start their family. However, it takes Rainn several years to get pregnant but they finally welcome their daughter Birdie into the family. Just months later, they welcome surprise daughter Willow. Rainn and Dax are nearing the top of their careers when they decide to try for baby #3. Unfortunately, Rainn miscarries and they decide to focus on their careers before trying again. Just after reaching the top of her career, Rainn delivers a son named River. Sadly, just days after meeting his son, Dax passes away. Rainn is beside herself with grief when she encounters a single father, Tobias Frankin, playing with his son in the park. They strike up a conversation and shortly after that they begin dating.

Rainn and Tobias decided to tie the knot not long after their third date. It was a simple wedding in the living room of Rainn’s house with just the kids in attendance.

Now that Rainn and Toby are married, the house was officially too small! They bought a huge 5 bedroom house in Del Sol Valley with lots of room for the kids to grow and play.

Shortly after moving in, Toby’s eldest daughter, Elle, moved in to get away from her over-bearing mom and her younger siblings, Finnegan and Clare. So far Elle gets along great with her new stepmother but we’ll see how long that holds out.

Poor Elle didn’t realize that Birdie and Willow have been itching for big sister and now she spends most of her time fending off requests to play dolls or read stories.

Poor Willow is struggling after losing her dad, Dax, but Toby is doing what he can to let her know things will be ok.

Chapter 5.9

Violet needs some money quickly but the odds are stacked against her.

As I promised Bee, I went full on cat lady.

Honestly, I didn’t mean to do it.  I really was just planning on getting a kitten.  Right?  And then the adoption guy showed up with two little kittens for me to choose from and well, I couldn’t.

Meet Lox and Sox.  I’m not entirely sure which is which since I’m constantly yelling at them and neither one answers.  But there you have it.  They’re lucky they’re cute since they’ve already destroyed my couch and an end table.

Which brings me to my next issue, or well, the issue that’s still an issue: money.

Bee wasn’t wrong when she said that I didn’t need a cat if I couldn’t feed myself.  I still can’t feed myself and now I’ve got babies with hungry bellies.  So I took my flowers and my woodworking and headed to the Romance Festival.  It seemed like prime grounds for people in need of a good gift.

I setup shop right next to the bathrooms.  No, it wasn’t the most romantic spot, but it was high traffic!  Location, location, location, am I right?

“How quaint!  A flower peddler here at the festival!”  Who did this butthole think he was?

“Um, I’m not employed by the festival.  Do you want to buy something?”

“Oh, goodness, no!”  He smiled smugly.  “I’m Chip!  And you might be?”

“Busy.  Get lost if you aren’t buying anything.”  I shooed him away from my prime real estate so others could gander the goods.

“Of course.  I’ll be back around later.  You’ll miss me.”

Ugh.  Some dudes.  What a weirdo.

Unfortunately, nobody wanted to buy anything.  People wanted roses or fancy vases or furniture.  I had none of those.  I packed up and left the festival empty handed.

Well, almost empty handed.  I don’t know what came over me but I ended up giving Chip my number.  He was cute, even if he was a bit of a butthead.

I did have a little bit of extra luck.  Being the Romance Festival, I was able to find some wild roses growing around the festival grounds.  Not about to miss out on an opportunity, I harvested all I could.  I went home and worked late into the night and stopped only to sleep.  I finished working the next morning.

I went all out.  Roses, vases, I even took pictures for Simstagram.  I wasn’t about to let more money pass me by.  I couldn’t afford to, literally.  The electric company was threatening to turn off my power if I didn’t pay by tomorrow.

I packed up my three new arrangements and headed to Willow Creek Riverfront Park in hopes of meeting some hoity-toity who might be interested in some roses for the holidays.

Everything was going great.  My setup was spectacular.  My flowers looked lovely.  My spot in the park was front and center.

And then it started to rain.  I’m not talking tiny sprinkles here either.

I mean giant, ass-kicking, huge drops of rain.  People were annoyed and running for cover.

Everything seemed hopeless.

But, to my surprise, people stopped at my table and bought out my entire stock!  I went home with $800!  More than enough to pay my bills and buy some food.

I got home to a hot mess of a house.  Turns out Sox sheds.  Like…a lot.  So I ordered a pizza and cleaned up the mess while I waited for it to arrive.  Then I paid my bills and I’ve never loved paying bills so much..

I also treated myself to a makeover.  A girl needs to look her best in order to sell flowers again tomorrow.  Those bills aren’t going to pay themselves, you know!

Welcome Home!

What used to be Eternally Yours is now home to all things SweetPoyzin!  We have a fancy new domain name, a spiffy new layout, and tons of new content coming your way.  Granted, it’s going to take a wee bit of time to work out all the kinks so please be patient as I figure out where I put things (I’ve already misplaced several headers and scared myself with the blog).

For those of you who come just for Eternally Yours — don’t worry!  I’ve kept you top of mind and made sure that Eternally Yours is featured right on the main menu.  You can drop down to any of the generational tables of contents and pick up right where you left off.

If you’ve come looking for my other short stories, they also have their own pages now.  Beware: they totally aren’t ready for prime time just yet.  It’s a work in progress since my stories are scattered across Tumblr, Facebook, and various blogs.

For my creation fans — there’s now a searchable portfolio with all my builds, sims, and custom content.  It’s also a construction zone so bear with me as I figure out how that whole mess works.

I’ve also added in some bonus goodies where you can learn about me, some of the awards I’ve gotten from other awesome bloggers, and you can also check out the mods/cc you’ll see poking around Eternally Yours.  There’s also a Donate button if you are so inclined to donate.  It is always appreciated but never required.

The bottom line is that I just had too many pages and not enough time.  So Sweet Stories, Poyzin Tales, SweetPoyzin Creations, and Eternally Yours all had to come together and learn to live together.  I hope you’re as excited about this new change as I am!  Here’s to 2019 and new adventures!

Cheers!
