Chapter 4.22

Even though I “graduated” from Ridge Hall, I still had to go to the stupid city wide graduation here in town.  Before the ceremony, I decided to take the college aptitude test just to see where I stand before I head off to register for classes.

Before I knew it, it was time to throw on my cap and gown and meet my family downtown at City Hall.  I was hoping Miss Beanie would behave herself since this was my first time stepping out as teen mom extraordinaire.

I was somehow voted valedictorian and most likely to change the world.  Who knew?!  I sure didn’t.  I don’t know how I’m going to change the world but whatevz.  Right now I’m just going to live it up.

Vi did behave herself thankfully.  Oddly enough, Annie has totally taken to being Auntie.  I mean, the boys already have kids but they’re kinda close in age to her so I think she likes having an itty-bit to show off as needed.

After the ceremony, we all went out to the bar/restaurant/dance hall that passes for entertainment in this town.  We had a family dance party which was weird but fun.  I don’t ever remember my family being this close and supportive.  Maybe we all needed Beanie to pull us together?

The support was short lived though.  I challenged Mom to a magic duel thinking I could finally beat her (or she’d let me win on my graduation day).

No such luck.  The woman even gloated!

I got the last laugh though.  I showed her my test results that got me a full scholarship to Winchester College.

“I’m so proud of you, Dani.  I’m sorry I didn’t know how to show it before.”

“It’s ok, Mama.  You tried.”

“FINN!  Put the baby back in the carrier, please!” Mom jumped away from me and grabbed Violet from Dad.

“It’s ok, Mama.  He can play with her!”

“I’d prefer if he didn’t, honey,” she whispered as she snuggled Beanie.  “Your father’s been weird lately.”

Without further explanation she tucked Beanie and I in a cab and we headed home alone.

Violet and I survived our first big outing.  I wish I’d get to sleep as well as she will.

    1. In due time Finn’s issues will come to the fore. And, yes, Valedictorian. I was like…Wow! You didn’t even go to school at all! Way to promote truancy, EA!

  1. Wow! It’s wonderful how easy school is for our Sims!?!! I hope Finn is okay, just having a mid-life crisis perhaps. And I do wish they made those baby swings in adult size, and for real life!! lol Good chapter! ♥
